I tried out false grip push pressing again. It felt a lot better this time around. Much better leg drive, and I was able to get my head through faster. 245 lbs on bench was technically a PR, but man oh man was it hideous. Uneven lock out, one butt cheek off the bench. I am a terrible terrible bench presser.
